Hello! From Static Dragon Craft Co!
Update 5/27/2023: One of our friends wanted to come to Bak-Anime to buy one of our wands but was unable to, so he bought one later and we decided to donate from his purchase as well. We donated it separately and we ended up donating $76. We are keeping the original confirmation screenshots up, but adding the new confirmation screenshots with the additional donation.
For Bak-Anime 2023, we donated 50% of net profit from premade wand sales to the Campaign for Southern Equality’s Southern Trans Youth Emergency Project. This project aims to contribute to queer equality in the southern United States, while focusing currently on southern trans youth.
We chose wands as our item to raise donations from because, while we do not make Harry Potter wands, wands are often culturally associated with Harry Potter and J.K. Rowling, who is a prominent anti-trans activist in the UK, and has in our opinion caused direct harm to the UK and international trans community by both influencing UK politics and furthering anti-trans narratives.
We raised $65.18 for Southern Trans Youth Emergency Project, which we rounded up to $70. 3 generous people donated directly without buying a wand, which raised $47, and we sold 3 wands, which raised $18.18.
Here is the ledger, and the donation confirmation screenshots.

The rest of this article is going to touch on heavy topics of discussion relating to queerphobia, transphobia and mental health.
As a Trans-Owned company, we feel the personal effects of the growing Anti-Trans sentiment in America today. We are lucky enough to live in California, where no legislative attacks on gender-affirming care are currently underway (and which is one of the best states to live as a trans person), but we still fear for those individuals who are experiencing this passed or considered anti-gender affirming care legislation, which is affecting about half of the states in the USA. We have personally experienced queerphobic violence and harassment in the past, and we are rightly worried that the growing anti-trans rhetoric will endanger us personally as well as other members of our community, and anti-gender affirming care sentiments will directly cause the deaths of both trans youth and adults in these states and throughout the rest of America. Gender dysphoria can cause major psychological harm if left untreated, such as major depression, general and social anxiety, self-harm, and suicide, and attacks on your community can be cause of the same.
If you believe in preventing the deaths of children, you will not bar them from care that is scientifically proven to improve their mental health, because it can and will cause them harm and death to prevent them from doing this.
Support gender-affirming care and social acceptance for trans youth and adults in America and the rest of the world.
