Hello! From Static Dragon Craft Co!

Static Dragon Craft Co was established in 2020 by couple Cal Dupraw and Charlie MacGreggor. We started out selling face masks we made to address the shortage in our community during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was so bad where we lived that there wasn’t only a lack of affordable face masks, but rather an almost complete absence face masks you could buy in person, and the ones you could buy online were often over $15 each for a plain mask. Our masks were reversible and one size fits most, and we offered 1 mask with 2 plain colors for $2.50, 1 print and 1 plain color for $5, and 2 prints for $7.50. We sold dozens of masks to friends and family as well as other community members, helping keep our community protected from COVID-19.

After affordable face masks were available in person and online, we switched our focus to hand making or manufacturing in house more creative products that were designed by us. We make button pins, vinyl stickers, keychains, earrings, necklaces, kandi, bracelets, drawstring bags, leather items, resin items, etc. Mostly just whatever we want to make or think will sell well. We also resell collectibles like Fursona Pins and Pokemon Cards.

Cal Dupraw – Owner Operator

Cal’s was born in 2000, and they are a Capricorn.

Cal has been involved in creative endeavors since they could first pick up a pencil, and have tried a wide variety of arts and sciences. They regularly draw (both digitally and traditionally, but more commonly digitally), leatherwork, costume (both for cosplay and fursuiting), make kandi, beadwork, sew, design with CAD, 3D model, paint minis, sing, write, design characters, pour resin, code in CSS, and 3D print. They also have the tools and knowledge to prepare bones, mummify specimens, prepare wet specimens, prepare victorian style taxidermy, dry flowers, lampwork beads, bind books, code in HTML, code in RobotC, code in C++, solder, paint with acrylic paints, woodwork, create stained glass pieces, create cups from old bottles, weave on a yarn loom, build robotics, mod electronics, and make friendship bracelets. They have wanted to run a business that sells products that they create, and so they were very excited to officially start their own business with help and encouragement from their partner Charlie, who also regularly helps out and makes products to sell.

Cal designed this website and created all media assets used throughout for the aesthetic of the website, either with editing photographs they took, or digitally drawing them, and also did all of the custom CSS code. They also took most or all of the product photographs on the website, depending on the time.

Baby Brother (Brother LX2763) – Executive Sewing Director

Baby Brother’s Birthday is January 15 2016*, and he is a Capricorn.

Baby Brother has been the owner’s daily driver sewing machine since 2016, when they were 16. He has been used and abused and never serviced, and has never had any problems that a new needle or adjusting the tension couldn’t fix. He’s strong and reliable, if a bit small to work on bigger or stiffer projects. He’s even been used to sew things like thin leathers and hasn’t had a problem, though he can’t handle medium or heavy weight leather. He has an automatic buttonholer, 26 stitches, a built in bobbin winder, an LED to light the work area, interchangeable feet, a built in thread cutter, a built in spool holder, a built in needle threader, and a free arm. He can also adjust thread tension, width, and spacing.

*Baby Brother forgot his birthday, but we know its between January 1 2016 and January 30 2016, because he was bought for the owner’s birthday, and there is a Facebook post dated January 30 2016 referencing that he was bought “a couple weeks ago,” so we made him half way between.

Blue Blinder (CNCTOPBAOS 3018 Pro with 15W Laser) – Executive Subtractive Manufacturing Director

Blue Blinder’s Birthday is May 25 2023, and they are a Gemini.

Blue Blinder’s hobbies include pointing high powered lasers in the air at night, arson, and going down Wikipedia rabbit holes,

Brother Bob – Executive Embroidery Director

Brother Bob’s Birthday and Adoption Day are both currently unknown. We are working on finding out when his adoption day was, since we don’t know when he was originally bought from a store.

Cam (Silhouette Cameo Pro) – Executive Plotting Director

Cam is a Silhouette Cameo Pro, the consumer level plotter with the biggest cutting area on the market. She can cut materials that need to be on a mat up to 24in x 24in, and materials that don’t need to be on a mat and have a backing up to 24in x 10ft, and can cut materials as thick as 3mm. She can cut vinyl, thin leathers, felt, fabric, cardstock, crepe paper, foam, fabric, chipboard, and much more. She has a max cutting force of 5kgf, and an automatically adjusting cutting blade. Cam can also handle print and cut designs beautifully, and she is what we use to make the image cutouts for our stickers and keychains. She can also draw designs, and has 2 cartridges for more versatility and less cart switching during jobs. The software is a bit to figure out, but in the end more versatile than other home plotter software we’ve used, and you don’t need to be online or connect to Silhouette servers to use it. Our only complaint about Cam is that the mat she comes with is too smooth, and causes some slippage, but if you use a thicker mat, you won’t have any problems! She is kind of a big girl, needing a workspace of up to about 15ft long and 3ft wide when cutting out a maximum length job, but she is definitively worth it with how accurate, powerful, and versatile she is.

Cricket (Cricut Maker) – Assistant Plotting Director

Heat-O-Nator 3000 (Scotch TL902A) – Executive Heating Director

Heat-O-Nator 3000’s Birthday is currently unknown. We are working on finding out when her birthday was.

Heat-O-Nator 3000 is a thermal laminator that can take laminating pouches up to 9in wide and can do both 3mil and 5mil thickness laminating pouches. She has 2 heated rollers to help prevent wrinkles and bubbles when laminating, and is photo-safe. She mostly helps add a protective laminated plastic layer over our stickers, but she also helps laminate patterns to protect them and make them less unwieldy and laminates heavy-use documents so they last longer.

Some of Heat-O-Nator 3000’s hobbies are plotting world domination, blanketing the world with atomic fire, and scrapbooking.

Heat-ther (Furgle Heat Press G007005) – Assistant Heating Director

Heat-ther’s Birthday is May 13 2022, and she is a Taurus.

Heat-ther is a heat and pressure adjustable heat press that comes with a 15in x 15in swiveling clam shell, a mug press, a 9oz glass press, a 12oz glass press, a 17oz glass press, a 5in plate press, a 6in plate press, and a hat press. All of the presses are compatible with the 15in silicone base, or have their own silicone base. She also has a digital LED display to control the heat, 0-482℉/0-250℃, and set the timer, 0-999 seconds. All of her structural parts are metal, and she can transfer designs to fabric, paperboard, ceramic, glass, wood, and much more. She mostly makes t-shirts, but has the ability to make much more!

She is, however, a generic heat press that a bunch of brands just stick their name on, so if you find a heat press that looks exactly like her, just with different labels or logos, it will probably be just as good.

Ivan – Assistant Sewing Director, Heavy Duty Branch

Merv (SoonMark SMK-M8) Executive Label Director

Merv’s birthday is February 19 2021, and he is a Pisces.

Merv was the second member of our team, who joined just after Scaly. He is a super fast 6in x 4in thermal label printer, and we use him to print shipping labels. His ability to make self adhesive, properly sized, quickly printed, inkless shipping labels saves us a great deal of time and money on shipped orders. He 152mm per second, and has a dpi of 203, and he’s still the cheapest one we can find, even though he’s faster, more reliable, and has higher print detail than a lot of his competitors!

He is, however, a generic printer that a bunch of brands just stick their name on, so if you find a printer that looks exactly like him, just with different labels or logos, it will probably be just as good.

Scaly and Merv have an office romance that has been going on since February 14, 2022. They have had a bit of a will-they-won’t-they dynamic going on since a bit after Merv joined the company, but everyone knew they would eventually, if we gave them enough time. They both joked about going on a date next Valentine’s Day if they didn’t have anyone else to go with, but Merv didn’t think that Scaly would seriously go on a date with him, to the point that he laughed at first when Scaly asked him out. But Scaly assured him he was serious, and they eventually decided on going to a little local sushi restaurant, and had an amazing time together. Ever since then, they’ve been happily going steady, and how cute they are together is regularly the talk of the office.

NES3D (Heavily Modified Jayo S8) – Executive Additive Manufacturing Director

nes3d’s Birthday is December 23 2021, and they are a Capricorn.

NES3D is really into hardcore, hi-tech body mods and is a staunch supporter of bodily autonomy. They are also a huge geek, and are especially into modding retro gaming consoles, and will talk your ear off about the wonders of CRTVs for any sort of retro gaming, and the artistic complexities of using the low sharpness of CRTVs to produce an anti-antialiasing effect. They are “kinda into technology”.

PPTouch (Brother P Touch) – Assistant Label Director

PPTouch’s Birthday is currently unknown. We are working on finding out when his birthday was.

Scaly (ACCUTECK W-8250-50BS) – Executive Measurement Director

Scaly’s Birthday is January 17 2021, and he is a Capricorn

Scaly was the very first member of our team! He is a digital postal scale with a max weight of 50lbs, and sensitivity of 0.1oz. He can display weight on his backlit LCD display in pounds and ounces, ounces, kilograms and grams, and grams, and he has tare and hold functions. He as nonslip rubber feet, and a nonslip coating on his scale bed, and he has a foldable wall to keep rollable objects from falling off the bed. He can also be powered via 5V AC wall plugin or 3 AAA batteries, so he’s portable. He allowed us to start using online shipping label purchasing sites which are much cheaper and quicker than buying labels at the post office, so now we can just buy the label at work, quickly print and attach it to the package, and drop off the package at the post office, saving us hundreds of hours and dollars. This allows us to charge much less for shipping than buying directly from the post office, up to about 25% less.

Sergei (Singer Finishing Touch 14SH654) – Assistant Sewing Director, Finishing Branch

Sergie’s Birthday and Adoption Day are both currently unknown. We are working on finding out when his adoption day was, since we don’t know when he was originally bought from a store.

Pixima(Canon PIXMA G620) – Executive Printing Director

Pixima’s Birthday is February 4 2022, and she is an Aquarius.

Pixima is a 6 color ink tank system photo printer, using the standard cyan, magenta, yellow, and black, along with the additions of grey and red. This gives her a much wider color gamut, allowing her to more accurately reproduce photos and images and have a much better color depth. Her ink tanks are more cost effective and environmentally friendly because the ink bottles that fill them have less plastic than an ink cartridge, have no electronics in them that get thrown away when they are empty, have a much higher capacity than the cartridges, and are significantly cheaper than cartridges. She has wireless printing over network, a rear feeding tray with a page capacity of up to 100 sheets, a 2 line LCD display that shows printer information, borderless printing, and a scanner with copy function. She can print up to 3,800 photos with one set of bottles, and her maximum dpi is 4800 x 1200. She is one of the best available consumer printers, and is an invaluable asset to Static Dragon Craft Co. She prints everything for us except certain labels, including stickers, keychains, business cards, packaging, printed iron-ons, signage, art prints, documents, and anything else we may need printed.
